Karen Hawthorne

While nothing tops a run on the blue trail in Northumberland Forest, Karen spends a lot of time on her laptop – luckily, with a view of Rice Lake for inspiration. She worked for six years as a writer and editor for the National Post, contributing articles on business, food, culture and travel. The Port Hope native now writes from her home office in Harwood, and takes breaks to head into town for lattes and loaves of fresh bread.
