Born in the wilds of Rainy River country, Roger Thomas earned a degree in journalism but a week after his graduation, he joined the police force where he served with pride for 34 years. His thirst for knowledge and adventure has followed him into retirement and shows up in his writing and his love of the outdoors.

Roger wrote about the magic of morels in our Spring 2020 issue but woefully admits that this past season was his worst morel hunting season ever. When he’s not writing or wild turkey hunting, he is a key player on the Watershed delivery team that recently distributed 25,000 copies of the Spring issue to locations across Northumberland, Quinte and Prince Edward County despite the pandemic.
