“Poetry is the cheapest way to be free.” (Inua Ellams) What does freedom mean for us right now? After a curtailed year, how can we define and explore and write our own freedoms? This virtual workshop series will be open to 14 participants (adult writers of any age). Each workshop will be one hour in length, followed by an optional 30-minute Q&A and discussion with the facilitator. The cost is $20.00 per workshop with all proceeds to the Al Purdy A-Frame. Come prepared to write, to read, and (if you want) to share! Rachel McCrum has performed and taught poetry and performance in Ireland, Scotland, the U.K., Greece, South Africa, Haiti, and Canada. She is now delighted to call Montreal home, where she is the curator of the Atwater Poetry Project, and works full time as a freelance poet, performer, event curator, and workshop facilitator.
