Cross Cut Exhibit at Lang Pioneer Village

Lang Pioneer Village 104 Lang Road, Keene

The Cross Cut: Traditional Ontario Folk Songs Revisited Exhibit will be on display at the Peterborough County Agricultural Building. CBC’s Edith Fowke collected folk songs in rural Ontario during the 1950s—many in Peterborough County. Traditional music came to Ontario with European settlers. Lyrics and tunes were adapted to local experiences and the personal preferences of the players, and these offer a reflection of society at different moments in history.

Northumberland Players Present All My Sons

Northumberland Players welcome you to attend their production of All My Sons. During WWII, Joe Keller and Steve Deever ran a machine shop which made airplane parts. Deever was sent to prison because the firm turned out defective parts, causing the deaths of many men. Keller went free and made a lot of money. The twin shadows of this catastrophe and the fact that the young Keller son was reported missing during WWII dominate the action.
