FOSTER M. RUSSELL
Chris Cameron’s article about Foster M. Russell (Foster M. Russell: Community Journalist and Publisher, Fall 2020), is worth reading, especially in these days of turbulent political reporting. I remember reading Russell’s often hard-hitting editorials as a teenager. Russell, an old-school conservative, was a “nothing but the facts, Ma’am” reporter, whose widely read editorials and slant on local politics were either loved or hated. The article expanded my knowledge of Russell and his significant thirty-year contribution to Cobourg’s political landscape, sadly missing in much of today’s overly hyped, pseudo-journalistic approach. WOMEN ARE HERE –
THREE SOMMS AND A POMM

We have seen an influx of female sommeliers into the wine industry, and now is the time for women to create new pathways for the future (Three Somms and a Pomm, Fall 2020). Our generation of female sommeliers and wine educators have a responsibility to continue the development of protocols and behaviour for the current in- dustry. Established professionals must continue to help and educate younger generations to be champions of wine. Grassroots groups such as Vinequity and Femmes du Vin present a voice for female expertise and knowledge in the industry. We become more relevant by creating a diverse environment that welcomes and respects women. Doris Miculan Bradley, Professor and Program Coordinator for the Special Event Management Program in the School of Hospitality Management at George Brown College.
