Rita di Ghent & Astrid Young

Rita di Ghent is a Hamilton-born bandleader and songwriter who, since 1990, has been bringing her unique blend of jazz, song, and gritty poetry to stage, record, and airwaves. Astrid Young is a singer-songwriter with influences that range from classical to heavy rock, with a healthy dose of blues and country in between.
Medusa at Old Church Theatre
Old Church Theatre 940 Bonisteel Rd., Trenton, Ontario, CanadaWielding a sound that would turn classical music scholars to stone, these four folk musicians are reimagining the Western string quartet. With their forthcoming EP, Medusa’s dynamic arrangement style cross-pollinates the sounds of Middle Eastern, Scandinavian, Celtic, Appalachian, and Eastern European music, as well as original tunes, to create something previously unheard.
Sultans of String – The Refuge Project
Old Church Theatre 940 Bonisteel Rd., Trenton, Ontario, CanadaSix-time CFMA winning Sultans of String present a special Screening of its Cannes World Film Festival winning documentary film, “Sultans of String: The Refuge Project – Visual Album”. This 95-minute screening will be followed by a Q&A with producer/bandleader and Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal recipient, Chris McKhool.
