Biglake Arts Music Festival Presents Carnaval des Animaux

Saint Saëns best-known work, “Carnaval des animaux”, was ironically prohibited by the composer from being performed in public, as he feared the frivolity of the piece would damage his reputation. This popular piece will be performed with a fresh twist: Canadian composer William Rowson has written additional movements inspired by creatures of the Coast Salish territory, done in collaboration with knowledge keepers from the Indigenous nations.
