Tell Your Story: A Wee Course on Writing Short Plays
County Arts Lab 206 Main Street, Unit 2E, PictonTell Your Story is a course for the storytellers in all of us. Over six weekly, 90-minute sessions, participants (ages 18+) will uncover and explore the creation of their own 10-minute play through prompts, writing exercises, group discussion and dramaturgical feedback.
Older Adult Information Fair
Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre 265 Cannifton Road, BellevilleThe Older Adult (50+) Information Fair is back! Join us in the gymnasium at the Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre and learn about local resources and organizations in our community. This is a free event. Over 45 vendors will be located in the gymnasium throughout the fair. There will also be several free seminars (with an ASL interpreter present) and HPE Public Health vaccinations.
Introduction to Portrait Photography
County Arts Lab 206 Main Street, Unit 2E, PictonThis 6-week beginner to intermediate photography course on portraiture aims to equip participants (ages 18+) with essential skills in portrait photography. Throughout the course, students will learn about various types of portraits, essential equipment and settings, natural and artificial lighting techniques, composition, posing, and creative approaches.
Drawing for Absolute Beginners
County Arts Lab 206 Main Street, Unit 2E, PictonIn this 5-week course for beginning drawers, Artist Instructor Irene Götz will introduce participants (ages 15+) to a range of fundamental drawing skills and techniques. Through a combination of visual examples, lessons, and exercises, participants will practice contour drawing, gesture drawing, composition, shading, drawing the human form and perspective.
French Conversation Circle at Belleville Library
Belleville Public Library 254 Pinnacle St., BellevilleJoin our French Conversation Circle and practice your French speaking skills. There is no registration for this free drop-in program. The French Conversation Circle meets in the second-floor cookbook nook on Tuesday evenings.
Intro to American Sign Language at Cobourg Library
Cobourg Public Library 200 Ontario Street, CobourgJoin us and celebrate with our community member, Giulio, an experienced deaf teacher, to learn and practice basic American Sign Language (ASL) vocabulary. Giulio will be teaching basic ASL geared to those who have a deaf family member. Registration is required.
