Drawing for Absolute Beginners

In this 5-week course for beginning drawers, Artist Instructor Irene Götz will introduce participants (ages 15+) to a range of fundamental drawing skills and techniques. Through a combination of visual examples, lessons, and exercises, participants will practice contour drawing, gesture drawing, composition, shading, drawing the human form and perspective. They will gain an introductory understanding of drawing, as well as comfort and confidence handling a couple of different drawing media.
Participants will begin to explore and develop their own drawing practice while connecting with a community of other like-minded beginner artists. No artistic experience is required, and all materials are included!
Sliding scale pricing: $100 to $200 for 5 weeks, plus materials fee. Youth bursaries available.
