Collaborative Choreography with Allison Nichol Longtin
Let’s make movement together! Through playful dance games and structured improvisations set to stellar playlists, Allison will guide the group through a collaborative creative process. You’ll try your hands at choreographic tools to build an original dance piece over 5 weeks. Together, you will stretch your limbs, limits, and creativity. You’ll make movement that’s wholly yours, speak your own individual dance languages, and combine vocabularies to create one narrative. Each session will be grounded in a theme that creates a container for play. From movement dynamics, sources of inspiration, and speed creating to the many different ways you can use music and space in dance-making, you’ll expand your toolkit, grow your capacity, and create connections.
No dance experience necessary. Bring your love of movement, openness to learning, and a desire to create in a collaborative environment.
For ages 18+.
Sliding Scale pricing, $100-$200 for 5 two-hour afternoons, plus materials fee.
