The Tweed & Area Arts Council is thrilled to once again host Daniel Champagne. His show at the MAC in October, 2022 sold out months in advance and was an intimate, one-of-a-kind performance that left the audience in amazement! He has been described as “the finest guitar player of this generation”, “a leading light in acoustic music” and “a performer that must be seen to be believed”.

We are again hosting a benefit concert for the Prince Edward County Chamber Music Festival. Incoming Artistic Director, Paul Marleyn, is a first-class cellist with a wealth of experience as a soloist and collaborator. Paul will be playing with our outgoing AD Jonathan Crow. Ticket price includes a musical performance, wine and appetizers.

Featuring a blend of acoustic instruments, rural soundscapes, and wistful vocals, Great Lake Swimmers are a critically acclaimed indie-folk group led by songwriter/vocalist Tony Dekker with a revolving backing band.

Emily Burgess is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter based in Peterborough, Ontario. As a freelance guitarist, Emily has worked for a wide variety of artists and groups, including The Weber Brothers, The Women’s Blues Revue Band, The 24th Street Wailers, Rita Chiarelli, and Sue Foley. Fronting her own trio, she won the Best New Artist Maple Blues Award in 2018.

Gareth Pearson is referred to as “The Welsh Tornado” which is particularly appropriate, seeing as this special talent combines fingerstyle pyrotechnics, with explosive lead runs making Pearson one of the most exciting acoustic musicians gigging today.

Ian Tamblyn began his professional life as a musician and songwriter at the Bobby Orr Pizza in Peterborough, 1972. Since that time it has been a slice. Forty-five albums, CDs and cassettes later, Ian has recently released a retrospective of his work. Featuring twenty-six songs on the CD and ten on the vinyl release, the collection is entitled Scenes through a Mirror.

The Philippine Madrigal Singers, one of the world’s most awarded choirs and UNESCO Artists for Peace, continue their mission in upholding choral excellence and advocating music education. As ambassadors of goodwill, they aim to give inspiration for social good and transformation, and promote the message of tolerance and peace.

Ron Sexsmith is one of Canada’s most accomplished singer-songwriters. He has collaborated with the likes of Daniel Lanois, Mitchell Froom, Ane Brun, Tchad Blake, and Bob Rock. He has been awarded 3 Juno Awards, having been nominated 15 times including eight nods for Songwriter of the Year.
